The Institut Pasteur du Laos invites applications for a Junior Scientist to join its Parasitology Laboratory. This is an opportunity to contribute to critical research and public health work in the Lao PDR, focusing on the epidemiology and control of parasitic infections that affect local communities. You will work alongside experienced scientists and technicians, supporting the lab’s diagnostic and research activities. In this role, your key responsibilities will include participating in the collection and processing of field samples, performing routine and specialized parasitological diagnostics, and assisting with laboratory maintenance and quality control. You will also contribute to data entry and analysis, help prepare reports, and support the development and validation of new laboratory methods. Your work will directly support studies on food safety, environmental health, and disease surveillance. We are looking for a motivated candidate with a background in sciences, ideally with experience in a laboratory setting. You should have a solid understanding of basic lab techniques, safety protocols, and data management. Familiarity with parasitology, food science, or environmental science is a strong plus, as is any experience with research and development or quality assurance processes.
